Sterling Bank wins ITF Award
ITF rates Sterling Bank 'Best Contributing Employer
Sterling Bank Plc. was recently honored by the Industrial Training Fund ITF with the award of "<b>Best Contributing Employer</b>" for the year 2010 in recognition of the Bank's outstanding human capital development activities.
During the ITF Annual Performance Review and Award Ceremony for 2010 held in Jos in March 2011, Sterling Bank was adjudged the Best Contributing Employer in Human Resource Development activities for 2010 in the Lagos Island Zone ahead of other distinguished organizations in financial services and other industries.
The Bank's Group Head of Human Resources & Performance Management (HR&PM), Chinedum Orisakwe, and other members of the Sterling Bank Team received the prestigious award during a formal breakfast meeting with clients held on Tuesday, 24th May 2011 at the Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Speaking on the award, Chinedum Orisakwe, reiterated that the award was based on Sterling Bank's excellent Human Resource Development efforts as highlighted in the provision of training services to its workforce among other proactive initiatives.
In his remarks, the Area Manager, ITF, Mr. Ibrahim Lawal said "the efforts put by the bank into the provision of training services to its workforce, participation in ITF training programmes, acceptance and supervision of students on industrial attachment were considered in the decision process".
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) was setup by the Federal Government of Nigeria to encourage Human Resource Development in the country. Sterling Bank is a member of the Lagos Island Zone of the ITF.
